About Ingrid
Ingrid (born in Northern Ireland) obtained her BSc (First Class, Combined Honours) in Biochemistry and Pharmacology at Aston University in England and her PhD at the Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, France.
Ingrid is currently chair of the Institute for Vascular Signalling and her research focuses on the elucidation of signal transduction mechanisms in the vessel wall. Current projects are aimed at elucidating the role of cytochrome P450-derived lipid mediators in vascular homeostasis, endothelial cell to pericyte communication, angiogenesis and stem cell mobilisation, as well as the changes in platelet function associated with the development of type 2 diabetes.
Ingrid is a member of the Excellence Cluster Cardio-Pulmonary Institute (CPI) steering committee, a PI with the German centre for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK) and currently is speaker of CRC 834 Endothelial Signalling and Vascular Repair.
